1. Khar Road station....17:57 pm. WCAM2 21880 brings in the 2953 DN AK Raj, having left BCT some 17 minutes ago!! The train was doing only about 65 kmph but I managed to get some motion blur any how!! |
2. The line is all clear for the AK as it builds up speed after having cleared the speed restrictions at Bandra! Note the Shatabdi power car near the engine!! |
3. Luckily a matching power car for the AK rake! The signal has dropped back to red........Siddharth and I timed WR's efficiency and came back with impressive figures...green to green again...58 secs on a through fast line! |
4. The AK has exited Khar station and is threading its way to the northern suburbs of Bombay....tail light flashing!! To the right of the picture is the wagon repair depot and the Bandra marshalling yard also known as 'BAMY'! |

This is probably the most fascinating train passing sight for me!! |

Beautiful sight it was!! |

Train - Bombay-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Exp (2009 DN) Locomotive - WCAM2, 21862, Valsad Shed, WR Load Details - 16 coaches, Air Braked Location - Virar station between Bombay and Surat, Maharashtra Estimated Speed - 80 kmph Notes - The Shatabdi was running late on this occasion, having left BCT late! Normal passing time for Virar is about 7:35 am or so! Note the mismatched Rajdhani power car on the rake....at both front and rear!! |

The section was a single line one and the Mail is on the loop line while the express is on the through! Note the MAUQ semaphore signals in the distance! |
